PNP units in Metro Manila on full alert status after an explosion tore through a popular night market in Davao City
The National Capital Region Police Office placed all PNP units in Metro Manila on full alert status after an explosion tore through a popular night market in Davao City on Friday, radio dzBB has reported.
According to Chief Superintendent Oscar Albayalde, all five police districts in the metropolis have been informed of the alert status.
Checkpoints operations in the capital region have also been intensified, said dzBB's James Agustin in his report.
Security will also be made more stringent at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, ports, bus terminals and malls.
Before the NCRPO's declaration of full alert status, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista directed the QC Police District to go on heightened alert, set up security check points and secure vital installations in the city.
